Introduction of Biodiesel Fuel

As part of our environmental conservation activities, we have introduced environmentally friendly biodiesel fuel for our AdBlue® delivery vehicles. By incorporating environmental considerations into the fuel used for vehicles that deliver our environmentally friendly product AdBlue®, we strive to promote our SDG-related initiatives on a continual basis.

■What is Biodiesel Fuel (BDF)?
Biodiesel fuel is an environmentally friendly energy source produced from plant-derived waste cooking oil, and can be used as an alternative to diesel and heavy oil. Since plant-derived cooking oils originate from plants that absorb CO₂ from the atmosphere during their growth, CO₂ emissions associated with the use of biodiesel fuel (BDF) produced from such plant-derived waste oils are not counted.

The fuel type we use is conventional diesel blended with 5% biodiesel fuel (BDF), enabling us to reduce CO₂ emissions by approximately 5%.
It complies with the mandatory diesel fuel standards under the Act on the Quality Control of Gasoline and Other Fuels*2, and can be used in the same manner as conventional diesel fuel.
*2…The Act on the Quality Control of Gasoline and Other Fuels establishes quality standards and labeling requirements for fuels such as gasoline and diesel, with the aim of preventing the distribution of non-compliant fuels.

Course of action

  1. We comply with relevant laws and regulations, establish our own standards, and prevent environmental pollution.
  2. We strive to save energy and resources in the raw materials, production processes, and logistics of the products we manufacture, and to prevent pollution.
  3. We aim to reduce environmental impact at all stages, from product planning to disposal, and provide products and services with low environmental impact.
  4. We provide environmental education to all of our employees to raise their awareness of environmental conservation, and each of our employees strives to contribute to society as a corporate citizen.
  5. In order to ensure that environmental conservation activities are not temporary, we will review our course of action in a timely manner and carry out environmental conservation activities on a continual basis.
  6. We will disclose our environmental policy, activity results, etc. to society as necessary.
